Summary

“Las que en vida fueran ” is a documentary that recaptures the experience, knowledge and practices of traditional midwives in Costa Rica, who for hundreds of years, attended home and helped deliver pregnancies.

The film is constructed from the stories of 5 midwives, capturing the reflections on breaking lineages of knowledge and the medicalization of life. The audiovisual proposal places the viewer in the margins and limits of two worlds and two visions in tension.
